NEWW
So Ami and I drove 3.5 hrs to Massachusetts on Saturday to attend the first ever New England Web Comics Weekend. Thanks to Meredith (of Octopus Pie, but you know that already) and her awesome new england comicer friends (many to name) for organizig the whole darned thing. The space was awesome and East Hampton, MA reminds me way too much of Red Bank, NJ (so why the hell didn’t WE have a cool warehouse to play in?).
There, we met up with our comrades, Ross (of The System) and Dern (of DernWerks). We also ran into and got to pal around a bit with some cool cats we knew/should know/now know, including: Kev and Blondie (of Caf-fiends), Chris (of Blue and Blonde), Dirk (of Dynamanga). If I forgot anyone, please let me know because my memories of the day are foggy and peppered with unicorns and rainbows. I hadn’t really slept much the week leading up to the event, so it is possible I DIDN’T meet any of these people and was actually off in a corner babbling. It is little surprise that the first thing Ami and I did when we arrived was to each get a glass of bourbon and drink it at an important panel.
Of course, there were many other awesome and very well known creators of the webcomics world (even people without day jobs), but you know who they are, and if you don’t, go to the neww website. Everyone there was fine fine people, and it was totally worth the drive and the hallucinatory exhaustion that seemed to be following me all day.
