    haha yes i am aware it’s irrational. but, in the back of my mind, I feel they *do* eat souls

    Aww… This reminds me of high school. My bio teacher had a ball python named Max, and during the winter when I went to his classroom to study I would take him out of his aquarium and have him curl around my neck. He would hide his head under my hair for the warmth. His flicky flicky tongue tickled the back of my neck. ^_^

    Once there was this group of kids who came up for an exam cram with the teach while Max was sitting on my lap, and he reared his head up and his mouth opened wide and his fangs extended and the girls went, “EEE!!! IT’S GONNA EAT JOO!” and I said, as he settled back down and took a deep breath and went back to sleep, “Nuu… he’s just yawning…” and went back to reading.

    Actually he was readjusting his jaw because he ate an hour earlier, but it would’ve been a pain in the ass to explain to a bunch of screamy girly girls.

    People thought I was so odd…

    OMIGAWDIWANNAPETRAT! Then again, I want a pet anteater…

    Well, they CAN cause hurricanes in South America. Only your better mad scientists can top that. Insidious creatures.

    Butterflies, that is. Not mad scientists.

    You don’t even know the half of it!

    One time, I went to a Pet store with my brother, and there was this cute little moth/butterfly flying around…We chased it around, and it finally landed on my finger. I looked closely at it, and BAM! It’s little proboscis thing juts out, and, in terror and fear, my arm SPAZES out of control, the moth/butterfly flies away, any my brother has the laugh of his life. He says he had the SAME THING happen to him with one if his friends at a Petco near his high school.

    It was hilarious, looking back on it, but even now I found it to be the scariest thing to EVER happen to me, EVER!

    Luz, you have no idea. I used to work in PetSmart. The moths were a nightmare!

    I’ve never even seen the tongue, but I’ve seen it in my nightmares!

    I can so relate to this. I totally had my first anxiety attack ever at the Cockrell Butterfly Center in Houston a few years ago. (http://www.hmns.org/see_do/butterfly_center.asp?r=1)

    i totally feel your pain butterflies scare me shitless1 well that and another six leged thing that creeps or crawls but i like spiders ^o^ they’re cute!

    I have never heard of another person afraid of butterflies, you are so not alone! (They’re WAY too fuzzy.)
