Fun in the Sun
Yes, this always happens to me. I am a beacon for mosquitoes, and this weekend (which I spent at my bf’s family’s lake house) was no different. Folks were amazed that NJ’s national bird, the mosquito, had seemed less hungry than usual. In reality, despite dousing myself with bug spray, I was able to feed the entire population of blood-sucking insects in Byrum.
Someone at the 4th of July shindig said that vegetarians tend to attract mosquitoes, as we eat more carbs than most carnivores, and therefore have sweet blood. The logic behind it was so believable, I subconsciously heard buzzing every time I ate toast.

Scientists have done research on what attracts mosquitoes to people, and why some people seem to get bitten more than others.

Apparently, all they’ve been able to conclude is “it’s complicated.”

Yeah, I heard that Off works best if you get your arms, legs, and esp. hair. Although when we end camping, the gnats didn’t seem to care about the off :[…
Then again it DID rain while we were there, I’m sure those GIANT DROPS OF WATER were like falling HELL to those little suckers, tehehe!
