12:34:56 7/8/09
July 8th, 2009
Just a little tidbit that Auilix over at Glass Urchin told me.
Today is a somewhat historic event for those of us geeky enough to watch the clock. At 12:34:56, we will have a great sequence all the way up to 9! This won’t happen again for like 100 years, so make sure to watch the clock (and if you’re at work today, like me, you probably will be anyway)

That’s only true if you use a US-centric date format that the rest of the civilized world has rejected as stupid.
Today’s date is 8/7/2009, you have to wait until next month until 07/08/09.

Different countries have seen fit in finding different ways of expressing phone numbers, delimiters for large numbers, and yes, dates. Much like language, these eccentricities both separate and make different places on Earth unique.
Grow up.

Max,
You’re saying that stupid is an acceptable lifestyle choice? I suppose that’s also why NASA keeps losing spacecraft by allowing US contractors to keep using imperial units instead of switching to metric.
