    Filthy alien propaganda! Of course they move back and forth then down! It’s not like they can do a barrel roll!

    “All right…it’s Saturday night; I’ve got no date, a two-liter bottle of Shasta, and my all-Rush mix tape. Let’s rock.”

  3. Ray

    @brian Futurama reference!

    i, for one, am looking forward to an alien invasion.
    what else will unite all humans together against the alien threat?

    Honestly, if something like an alien invasion, or some sort of paranormal conspiracy were ever to hit Earth, I’m sure it would be better for our society, as opposed to hurting it…although, it may only cause more strife, we’ll have to see what the BBEG is promising to us…>_>;;

    Didn’t Sesame street come out with a bunch of video games for the Atari 2600. Like 26 years ago? Does that not count as support?

  6. CJH

    There is a backup plan…in case the aliens DON’T move back and forth in straight lines as they descend…

    …did you think Bungie released three Halo games for profit?

    “Enders Game”, (an actual physical book) by Orson Scott Card was one of the earliest examples of the video game trained fighter pilot. Original concept in a novelette around 1977, expanded to a book about 1984/5.
    Yeah, I’m one of the “old-school” type geeks :)

    old school, nothin! I read that book, too, when I was like 11 :) I recently saw it in the comic book store as a series, but I am not sure if it’s a continuation of the Ender saga or just the old books in graphic novel form…

    That’s pretty much the plot of the 1984 film “The Last Starfighter, “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Starfighter
