Honestly, if something like an alien invasion, or some sort of paranormal conspiracy were ever to hit Earth, I’m sure it would be better for our society, as opposed to hurting it…although, it may only cause more strife, we’ll have to see what the BBEG is promising to us…>_>;;
“Enders Game”, (an actual physical book) by Orson Scott Card was one of the earliest examples of the video game trained fighter pilot. Original concept in a novelette around 1977, expanded to a book about 1984/5.

old school, nothin! I read that book, too, when I was like 11 I recently saw it in the comic book store as a series, but I am not sure if it’s a continuation of the Ender saga or just the old books in graphic novel form…
