I don’t know what’s worse, that people do act like that or that they’re probably right.
One thing I always thought was funny about Seinfeld is that Jerry clearly hated kids and the people who raised them. Then a few years ago I saw him on Letterman, showing pictures of his newborn like it was the best thing ever.
Having kids is like selling out, we’ll probably all do it eventually once the price is right.
For some that may be true, Max. Others (like yours truly) happily trotted off to get themselves sterilized so they won’t one day lose their minds to baby rabies and wind up doing something they know they’ll regret. Some of us know that we’re much happier being an aunt or uncle.
Considering how that “miracle” can force you to “experience” horrendous vaginal tearing, losing vaginal elasticity, and possibly unintentional bowel movements, it doesn’t seem terribly miraculous to me.
How thoroughly frustrating. I hear this from half of my friends and at every single family gathering I go to. I’ve always said I don’t want to marry and I certainly don’t want kids. I don’t engage in relationships, or even sex as I have no interest in them and yet, someday, I’m supposed to meet the “right man” and deeply desire to destroy my body to bring about “his” offspring. Yeah…it’ll so happen.

Very very disturbing.

I’ve been lucky; my brother procreated, and another is on the way; each buys me months without family bugging me to do the same.
I have enough fun keeping my plant alive. Why on earth would I want a kid?
