My Telly-belly… You only got 15 years and about a month on this earth. We are ever so grateful you gave them to us. I love you; I’ll miss you.

I’m sorry for your loss.

When a loved one leaves us,
They’re never truly gone:
They linger in our spirits,
In every breath, in everyone.
They linger in our memory,
In our hearts and dreams,
They linger in our love and hope
And every single thing.
And even though they’re missing,
In a way, they’re still here:
Because love never really dies,
They’re always, always near.
Remember, when it pains you,
They are not really gone:
They’re watching from the World Beyond,
Helping us move along.
(hugs)

I’m so sorry
I’ve a lost a few pets over the years and it never gets easier. They are just as precious as any friend or family member, maybe more so. They make our lives better without even trying. But they know how much we love them and they return that love tenfold. I really feel for you and I hope you’re okay.

I am dreading this with my cat as she gets older, I have lost other pets after long lives. My condolences to you, take time to grieve they are as precious as a first born child to its parents and the loss is as bad and hurts as much.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

I feel your pain Bree. I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Telly. Our Ashes gave us only 12 years and is gone about 2 years now, but we’ll never forget her and she’ll always be in our hearts. Rest in peace Telly and Ashes! See ya at the Rainbow Bridge!

This is the saddest thing I’ve had to read in quite a while. I can’t even imagine.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my first cat in 2008, after 14 wonderful years. It hurts so much. Beautiful comic… *hugs*

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s never easy when they go, is it. This art is a very touching eulogy.

This has truly touched me as well, since I’ve had my cat for about fifteen years as well, (i’m a junior in highschool, and i’ve had the cat since kindergarten), and she was recently lost. I’m currently tearing up a lot, but I thank you. This has extremely touched me.

As a Veterinarian for 36 years, it is always hard to say goodbye to a loved one. I have cried both days I went back to see this beautiful and loving goodbye. I have lost many loved ones over the years but the six I have now, help me remember the lost loved ones and grateful for charm and unconditional love the new ones have provided. I always seem to have one I must fight with to get my share of the pillow. Please keep her memories always and hopefully you can find someone new to build new loving experences

Those simple lines say a lot, and things I can relate to… I’m sorry for your loss, but I agree with others that it’s a beautiful eulogy.

I apologize for the belated posting. I just came across your website, and finally read every episode after meeting you at Maker Faire.
Here is a poem that was forwarded to me when I lost my favorite cat:
The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….
