Michael Jackson died today. Or, was it yesterday? I don’t know.

So, unless you live in a bunker, you probably already heard. I first heard on the news, and didn’t really have a reaction. Like I said, I think he died a long time ago.

There apparently was a candlelight vigil at Union Square last night. As icons go, I guess MJ was a big deal, but that guy, the 1950’s cute kid turned 1980’s chick magnet, disappeared sometime after he lost his pigment and got his face altered. It’s weird, because no one really had nice things to say about the man/thing he had become, but we all remember that he was great (and possibly sane) once. A big pop star that lost his mind and his color, and possibly all dignity…

I was originally going to do an SDJC comic about it, but I was caught somewhat unmoved.

I don’t know what people think about this in general, but I would be curious to get comments from readers, since my own reaction was surprising to me.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the 2-week planning before V day that I prescribed in last year’s advice comic, but I wonder whether or not I will have a date. In theory, I think I am seeing someone, but my like life is once again mired in uncertainty. Needlessly complicated and rather annoying, but I see a bright light at the end of the tunnel: more bleak comedy for the comic!
Hopefully, things will work out in my favor and I can do some of those disgustingly cute relationship comics for V day, but either way, thar will be comics!
